Emanuel goes to the Edinburgh Festival

Antigone

by Jean Anouilh inspired by Sophocles, where Ancient Greece meets World War Two

Performance on 3rd and 4th August, and from 6th-11th August inclusively at 1.45pm in The Space on the Mile, Theatre One

This year the school play Antigone was very well received and as a result ambitious plans are in place to take it to Edinburgh for the festival. We received some amazing audience feedback from parents, staff and students, who said:

"From the entrance scene, the lighting, the atmosphere, choreography, everything was just so perfect in detail and as to the strong performances of the actors, they were all outstanding and immersed me totally in the content. This play would not be out of place in the West End!!"
"Antigone was extraordinarily good, you have done fantastic work, the whole concept was so fantastic, I didn't even know I was in the theatre and the emotional intensity of the performances blew me away."
"Thanks for a moving evening. One simply forgot where one was. Excellent"
"The intensity of the acting was phenomenal and I was gripped the whole way through. The best compliment I can pay is that the play could easily have passed as a professional production- we have some real stars of the future here!"

If you are visiting Edinburgh during the festival, do support Emanuel School by going to see the play.
